Notice about content and artificial intelligence
Last updated: August 31, 2026
Selah walks alongside you in your devotional life. This notice makes clear what the app offers you — and what it doesn't.
It's spiritual companionship, not professional advice
Selah's content — readings, reflections, prayers, series, and "Light's" responses — is general spiritual guidance. It is not, and does not replace:
- The counsel of your pastor, priest, or trusted spiritual leader.
- The care of a mental health professional (psychologist, psychiatrist, therapist).
- Medical, legal, or financial advice.
Decisions about your life, your health, your family, or your money are yours to make, with the help of the right people and professionals.
"Light" can make mistakes
"Light" generates its responses using an artificial intelligence model. Like any AI, it can produce incorrect or incomplete information, even when quoting the Bible. Always double-check verses and anything important in your own Bible or with someone you trust. Keep what's useful to you and discard what isn't.
If you're in crisis
Selah is not an emergency service. If you or someone close to you is in danger, having thoughts of self-harm, or experiencing violence, seek human help immediately: someone you trust, a professional, your country's emergency line, or local emergency services.
Your data and AI
When you use "Light" or choose to listen to a prayer, your text is processed on AI providers' servers in the United States (Anthropic and OpenAI). Don't write passwords, card numbers, or personal documents. The details are in the Privacy Policy.
