Terms of Service
Last updated: August 31, 2026
These are the rules for using Selah. By creating your account and using the app, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree with something, please don't use Selah.
What Selah is — and what it is NOT
Selah is a digital subscription to Christian devotional content: Bible readings, reflections, guided prayers (in text and audio), series about women of the Bible, a prayer-request wall, and an AI companion called "Light."
Selah does not replace, and does not intend to replace: the counsel of your pastor or spiritual leader, the care of a mental health professional, or medical, legal, or financial advice. It is a spiritual companionship tool, not a professional service.
Your subscription
Access to Selah is purchased as a subscription through Hotmart. The app lives on the internet (Vercel and Supabase infrastructure); Hotmart processes the charge.
- Automatic renewal: your plan (monthly or annual) renews and is charged automatically at the end of each period, until you cancel.
- Free trial: plans include a 7-day free trial. The first charge happens when those 7 days end, on the date shown to you when you subscribe.
- How to cancel: from your Hotmart account, whenever you want, with no calls or paperwork. The steps are in How to cancel. Canceling is as easy as subscribing.
- Right of withdrawal: you have at least 7 days from the purchase to withdraw with a refund, under applicable consumer law (for example, Brazil's CDC, which Hotmart applies). See the Refund Policy.
License to use
While your subscription is active, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Selah and its content for your personal devotional life.
You may not resell, redistribute, mass-copy, or share your access with other people. The devotional content (texts, reflections, prayer scripts, series) is owned by Selah or its authors. Bible text quoted belongs to its respective rights holders (see the credits in the Bible section of the app) and is shown unaltered.
The content you create
Your reflections, gratitude notes, and prayer requests remain yours. By writing them, you give us permission to store and display them within the app according to their purpose: your reflections only for you; your prayer requests, on the "Women who support each other" wall so other users can pray for you (anonymously, unless you choose to sign with your name).
You can delete your content whenever you want, and it is permanently removed when you delete your account.
About "Light" and AI-generated content
"Light" generates its responses using an artificial intelligence model. Those responses are general spiritual guidance, may contain errors or inaccuracies (even in Bible quotes), and are not professional advice of any kind. Always verify anything important and make your decisions on your own responsibility. In a crisis, emergency, self-harm, or violence situation, seek real human help immediately.
To the extent the law allows, the responses Light generates for you are for your personal use. We don't guarantee they are unique or that other people won't receive similar responses.
Acceptable use
By using Selah — especially the prayer-request wall — you agree not to post or send content that is:
- Offensive, harassing, hateful, or that attacks a person or group.
- Illegal, defamatory, or that violates third-party rights.
- Sexual, especially any content involving minors.
- Spam, advertising, scams, or the promotion of money schemes.
- An attempt to manipulate or "reprogram" Light or the app's systems.
You can report inappropriate content directly from the wall. We may hide or remove content, and suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
Limitation of liability
Selah is provided "as is" and "as available." We do our best, but we do not guarantee that the app will always be available without failures, or that it will resolve any spiritual, emotional, health, or other problem.
To the maximum extent the law allows, Selah and Johandra Reyes will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the app or the inability to use it. If, despite the above, some liability were found, it will not exceed the total amount you paid for Selah in the 12 months before the event.
Nothing in these terms limits the rights that your country's consumer law grants you on a non-waivable basis.
Suspension and account closure
We may suspend or close your account if you breach these terms, if we detect fraudulent or abusive use, or if Hotmart informs us of a refund or chargeback. You can close your account whenever you want from Settings.
Governing law
These terms are governed by las leyes de Inglaterra y Gales (Reino Unido). Any dispute will be resolved before the competent courts of that place, without prejudice to the rights your own country of residence's consumer law grants you.
Changes to these terms
If we change something important, we update the date above and notify you by email before it takes effect. If you keep using Selah after that date, you are understood to accept the new terms.
